The Picasa Way
IMPORT IMAGES -
Images may be imported from your camera or any other source and saved on your hard drive.
Using Picasa Import process avoids duplications (if Exclude Duplicates box is checked)
Import using any import process and save images in a folder in My Pictures or any other folder recognized by Picasa.
When Picasa is opened, it will scan your hard drive for added images and display in folder bar.

Collections - related groups of folders. Some collections are generated by Picasa as needed. User has ability to create collections of similar folders. Collections are only visible in Picasa on the folder bar. Green Triangle indicates collection is open and folders can be seen. Red triangle indicates closed collection and folders are not visible. Toggle triangle to change state.
PICASA COLLECTIONS
- ALBUMS
- PEOPLE
- PROJECTS - includes movies, collages, screen captures and captured videos which Picasa creates as needed
- FOLDERS - all your imported folders displayed as chosen above
- OTHER STUFF - A Collection to hold folders not designated to a collection
USER COLLECTIONS
- Add a folder to a collection by selecting folder name. Right click and choose Move to Collection.
- Select New to start a new collection and type name. OR select existing collection name.
- Collection name appears as a silver bar in folder list with "sub"folders listed below.
